Discover the world of enamelling in this inspiring one-day course, designed especially for absolute beginners. Starting from the very basics, you will be guided through the fundamentals of enamelling in a friendly and supportive environment. There will only be three students on this course. In the morning you will explore the different types of enamel and a wide range of application techniques. You will learn how to prepare both enamel and copper, before applying enamel using traditional sieving methods. You will learn how to achieve different effects by over firing the enamel and also using low heat. In the afternoon you will look at the textures that can be achieve by using opaque and transparent enamels together. As well as using millefiori and silver foil. Using hammers, stencils, and a rolling mill, you will experiment with adding texture and pattern to your copper surfaces.
