Discover the world of enamelling in this inspiring four week half-day course, designed especially for absolute beginners. Starting from the very basics, you will be guided through the fundamentals of enamelling in a friendly and supportive environment. There will only be three students on this course. Week 1: You will learn how to prepare both enamel and copper, before applying enamel using traditional sieving methods. Using hammers, stencils, and a rolling mill, you will experiment with adding texture and pattern to your copper surfaces. Week 2: You will build on your skills by exploring more expressive approaches, including applying enamel in a watercolour style and using millefiori. Week 3: You will experiment with using enamel paints and pens, using graphite pencils and graphite powders You will also learn how to apply silver foil. Week 4: You will learn how to apply enamel using wet packing techniques and have time to practice whichever techniques you like. By the end of the course, you will have a strong foundation in enamelling and the confidence to continue developing your own creative work.
